What We Do

Engagement

The Pukaar Foundation has been spearheading a concerted effort to promote environmental sustainability in Gurgaon, through a comprehensive plantation drive that has resulted in the successful planting of over 5,000 trees across various locations, including Rajendra Park, Rajeev Nagar, Sheetla Colony, Gurgaon Village, and Sector 12 of Gurugram. This initiative has been made possible through a collaborative effort and support of the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram, various social organizations, and individual stakeholders, all of whom share a common vision of creating a more sustainable and environmentally conscious community. A key aspect of this project has been the involvement of a team of students undergoing vocational training at the Kaushal Centre and student interns. These students have been actively engaged in the plantation drive, gaining valuable hands-on experience in environmental conservation and sustainability practices. Notably, over 200 girl volunteers have made significant contributions to this campaign, demonstrating the critical role that women can play in driving environmental change and promoting sustainable development. Through this initiative, the Pukaar Foundation reaffirms its commitment to working towards a better and more sustainable world, one that is characterized by environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and community engagement. By promoting sustainable practices and environmental awareness, we aim to inspire a new generation of eco-conscious citizens who will work together to create a more resilient and sustainable future for all.

Our initiative empowers women by teaching them the art of stitching and sewing, transforming creativity into opportunity. Using reusable materials like old clothes, bedsheets, and textile scrap, we promote sustainability while giving waste a new purpose. Every stitch is a step toward self-reliance and environmental responsibility, proving that discarded fabric can create something beautiful and meaningful. It’s not just about sewing—it’s about reusing, reinventing, and making a difference. So far, we have trained more than 200 girls through our training program.
